The Boy Who Cried Coyote!

My son turned 5 this week so I decided to make a children's book him.  It's loosely based on a true story depending on who's telling it. I hope you enjoy it.

nothing smart about smart phones

It's so sad... Those parents are so distracted they are missing out on everything that's actually happening in front of them.  In stead of bringing a smart phone, i bring my digital camera so I can take pictures and video of my kids. Also, I don't own a smart phone so I can't bring it even if I want to...

1st day of 1st grade

My oldest daughter entered 1st grade today.  I don't remember my first day because it was a long time ago but I know what it's like to be nervous.  No matter how much you prepare (new clothes, new backpack, new underwear, etc) you gonna be nervous if you are that type of person.  Eventually, we all get used to it.

Girl Power!

I did this illustration for a friend Natasha who is leaving Kung Fu Panda: the Legends of Awesomeness  to go work on the Legend of Korra. As you can see, she likes kittens, french fries, anime, vegetarian food, diet coke and feminism. Good bye Natasha, flamey O.

It's been a loooong time since my last post. I've been busy with my other projects, work, and just life in general. I have many more Shiitakesan stories written but not illustrated yet so hold on to your seat!

Prometheus(NO SPOILER)

It's been a while since I last posted.  I apologize to all you 3 people that happened to stumble upon my blog by accident. I had been incredibly busy the last 3 week. I finally had some down time so I went to see Prometheus... It was visually stunning and the story was entertaining but for some reason it left this unsatisfying, confusing taste in my mouth afterwards. I figured out why but I'm not commenting on this blog in case you haven't seen it. If you want to know all the answers check out this article.

Old/hip chinese man

When you drive through San Gabriel Valley, you will notice that there are A LOT of Asians who have immigrated recently. Last Sunday, I was at a stop light on San Gabriel Blvd and Valley Blvd, waiting for the light to turn green and I notice that there was this little tiny guy crossing the street. He was probably about 4 feet tall. And then I noticed that he was an OLD MAN.  He was wearing his baseball hat sideways, a baggy t-shirt, baggy pants and even walked with a limp.  I would say he's either the most hip, senior chinese citizen or some old man accidentally dressed up fashionably without knowing it.  Either way, he made me feel like I found a $20 bill in my jeans before washing them. Sideways smile.

Storyboard Deadline

I have been working too much lately because my storyboards are due on monday.  Because of that I haven't been able to do things that I used to do normally like doodling, shopping online, leaving obscure comments on facebook,  or researching products to shop online.  I have many plans after I turn in these boards. First, I'm going to lie down on the floor, face down, and relax.

Dora vs Swiper

My kids love to watch Dora. In case you don't know, Swiper steals things from Dora and she says "Swiper, No swiping!" But for some reason, all I hear is "SWIPER, NO SNIPING."   This is what happens when child like innocence goes away and cynicism takes over your heart, soul, and mind.
